ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Quantum channel

A quantum channel is like a secret messenger that helps us send messages in a special way using tiny particles called "quantum particles" instead of normal ones. Imagine you have a magic box that can send secret letters to your friend who lives far away. You put your message inside the box and shut it. The magic box then turns your message into a special code that only your friend can understand. This code cannot be intercepted by anyone else who tries to steal it.

Now, a quantum channel is like a magic box that works with tiny quantum particles instead of regular letters. These particles are so tiny that you cannot see them with your eyes. They have a special property called "quantum entanglement," which means they are connected to each other in a very special way.

When we put a message into a quantum channel, the particles start talking to each other in a secret language that only they can understand. This makes it very difficult for anyone who tries to spy on the messages to understand them.

So, just like your magic box, a quantum channel can be used to send secret messages that are very hard to intercept or read by other people.
