Daniel (biblical figure)

Many many years ago there was a man named Daniel in the bible. He was a very good and wise man who did many great things. One time, he was taken away from his home and brought to a new place by some mean people. They thought they could make him stop believing in his God but Daniel stayed true to his beliefs and did not let them change him.

Daniel became very important in this new place because he could interpret dreams which helped the leaders make important decisions. Daniel even had some dreams himself which showed him important things about the future.

There was a time when some people didn't like Daniel because he was so good and they wanted to get rid of him. They tricked the king into making a law that said no one could pray to any gods except for the king for a month. But Daniel was not afraid and continued to pray to his God. The mean people caught him and told the king, who was sad because he liked Daniel. But the king had to follow his own law so he punished Daniel by putting him into a den of lions.

The other people thought the lions would eat Daniel right away, but because he was so strong and brave, the lions did not hurt him at all! The next morning, the surprised king went to the den and found Daniel still alive. He knew then that Daniel's God was the one true God and he knew Daniel was special.

Daniel lived a long and important life, helping many people and staying true to his beliefs.
