Theophory in the Bible

Theophory is a way of referring to God in the Bible. It happens when words which have the letters ‘theo’ in them, like 'theology' or 'theocracy', are used to refer to God. So, if God is referred to as ‘the Lord’, it is an example of theophory. Theophory is a way of showing respect to God by referring to Him in a special way.
