Daniel 5 is a chapter in the Bible that tells a story about a king named Belshazzar. Belshazzar was having a big party with his friends and they were all drinking and having fun. They were even using special cups and plates that his grandfather, King Nebuchadnezzar, had taken from a temple in Jerusalem.
While they were partying, something really strange happened. Belshazzar saw a hand appear out of nowhere and start writing on the wall of the palace. But the weird thing was, no one could understand what the writing meant. Belshazzar was really scared and he called for his wise men and magicians to come and read what the writing said, but none of them could figure it out.
Then, the queen remembered that there was a man named Daniel who had helped Belshazzar's grandfather before. So they called Daniel to come and see if he could understand the writing on the wall. Daniel was a wise man and he trusted God to help him understand things that others couldn't.
When Daniel arrived, Belshazzar promised to give him lots of rewards if he could tell him what the writing meant. But Daniel said he didn't want any reward, he just wanted to help. Daniel explained to the king that the writing on the wall meant that God was not happy with him because he had been arrogant and proud. He reminded Belshazzar about how his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar had also been proud, but then he humbled himself before God.
Daniel told Belshazzar that because of his arrogance, God had decided to take his kingdom away from him and give it to someone else. And that very night, the Medes and Persians invaded Babylon and Belshazzar was killed.
The story of Daniel 5 teaches us that it's important to be humble and not be too proud. It shows us that God is always watching and knows what we do, and that we should listen to those who have wisdom and trust in God's guidance.
