Danish monarchs' family tree

A long time ago in a faraway land called Denmark, there were kings and queens (just like in fairy tales!). These kings and queens had families, just like you do. The family tree of Danish monarchs shows all the members of the royal family and how they are related to each other.

Picture a big tree with lots of branches. Each branch represents a different family member. At the very top of the tree is the first king of Denmark, and the original branch. From there, each new branch represents a child of the previous king or queen, and so on down the generations.

Today, the current Danish monarch is Queen Margrethe II, and she is at the very end of one of the branches. Her parents were both kings and queens too, so they have their own branches. If you look at the family tree, you'll see that there are lots of other branches too, representing uncles, aunts, cousins, and more.

Just like in your own family, Danish monarchs' family tree shows who is related to who, and how they are all connected. It's pretty cool to see how far back in time the family goes, and to learn about all the people who came before the current queen.
