Darwinian threshold

Imagine a race where all the animals have to run from one end of the track to the other. The animals that are fastest and strongest will be the first ones to cross the finish line. That's what we call natural selection.

But in this race, there is a limit to how fast or how strong the animals can be. This limit is called the Darwinian threshold. It's like a barrier that only the strongest and fittest animals can cross.

So, if you're an animal and you want to survive, you need to be fast and strong enough to cross the Darwinian threshold. If you're not, then you might not be able to compete with the other animals and survive in your environment.

Basically, the Darwinian threshold is the level of physical or genetic traits that an organism needs to have to be able to survive and reproduce in their environment. It's like a survival of the fittest barrier, where only the strongest and most adaptable organisms can pass through.
