Data protection (privacy) laws in Russia

Data protection (privacy) laws in Russia are laws which protect people's personal information. They make sure that people's private information isn't given away or used without their permission. This means that companies and websites must ask for your permission before they can use, store, or collect any of your data (like your name, address, or phone number). If they don't, they can be in trouble with the law. So these laws make sure that your information is kept safe and that you know when it is being used.
