David A. Huffman

David A. Huffman was a really smart man who helped make the internet and computers work better. He came up with a way to make it easier and faster to send and store information called the Huffman Coding technique. It's like putting all the letters in a word into a special code, and then sending the code instead of the whole word. This makes things go much faster and saves space. It's like if you had a big toy box and you wanted to fit all your toys in it. You could take some of the bigger toys apart and put them back together in a smaller way, so they would fit better. That's what Huffman did with information, he made it smaller so it could fit better on the internet and computers. That way, people can get what they need quicker and it doesn't take up too much space. David A.
