ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

David D. Friedman

David D. Friedman is an economist, legal scholar, and author. He is most famous for his books and ideas about how people can use economics in decision-making, and how different kinds of laws can have good or bad effects on people's lives. He believes that people are best served by a market system that is voluntary and open. That means that people can make their own decisions with very little government interference. He also believes that private contracts should be respected, and that the government should not impose rules and restrictions on the economy that are contrary to basic economic principles.
