David Ricardo

David Ricardo was a famous economist. He was born in the late 1700s and he wrote a book called "On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation" which introduced a lot of ideas about economics that are still used today. He argued that wages, prices, and profits should be determined by the forces of supply and demand. He also believed that free trade could make all countries better off. He argued for a laissez-faire approach to the economy and said that governments should not interfere in how the economy works. In short, he believed in an economic system that focused on free trade and open markets.
