Day labor

Day labor is when people do short-term jobs, usually for just one day. It's kind of like when you hire someone to work at your house for a few hours to help you out with a project. Day laborers are people who are looking for work, and when you hire them, you agree to pay them for a certain amount of time. The worker will do whatever task you ask them to do for you, like paint a wall or help move furniture. When the job is done, you pay them their wages. Day laborers will often work for any employer, as long as they are paid fairly.
