De minimis

De minimis means that something is deemed too small or insignificant to be of concern. Think of it like a tiny little ant that you barely notice when you're walking outside. It's so small that it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

In legal terms, de minimis is used to describe a situation where something is so tiny or unimportant that it isn't worth considering or worrying about. For example, if someone accidentally jaywalked for just a few seconds, a police officer might not bother to stop them because it's such a small thing.

The idea of de minimis is used in lots of different areas of law, from taxes to copyright law. Basically, if something is considered de minimis, it's too small to be a big deal, and the law doesn't really care about it.
