Decemvirate

A decemvirate is a group of ten people who work together to make decisions. It comes from the Latin phrase "decemvir" which means "10 men". The most famous decemvirate in history was the Roman Decemvirs, who made laws for about two years in the 500s BC. It was important because the laws they made helped bring peace and order to Rome.
