ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Decentralized identifier

A decentralized identifier (or DID) is like a way of identifying yourself online without needing to use your real name. It's kind of like a secret code that only you know. It's decentralized, which means that nobody else, not even a company or a government, controls it - it's just yours. That means that instead of having someone else (like a company or the government) tell you who you are and what your information is, YOU can decide what information you want to share and who to share it with. It also means that you can keep your information safe and private.
