Insects are an important part of nature because they do many good things, like helping us to grow food, cleaning up waste and giving us bite-free days outside. But, unfortunately, some kinds of insects are disappearing. This is because of things like pesticides, climate change, and the destruction of their natural homes. Pesticides are chemicals that people use to keep pests away from crops, but they also kill insects accidentally. Climate change can cause a change in an insect's environment, making it harder for them to find food or somewhere safe to live. Finally, when people cut down forests, or fill up wetlands, they are destroying the homes of insects, leaving them homeless and without food. All of these things together mean that the insect population is decreasing, which can cause problems for other animals and the environment.
