Decline of Buddhism in the Indian subcontinent

Buddhism is an old religion which began in India long ago. It was very popular in India and other parts of the region (the Indian subcontinent) for many centuries. However, in recent times, it has become less popular. This is because some changes happened in India, like other religions becoming more popular and some new laws being passed that made it difficult for Buddhists to practice their faith. Some Buddhists left India and moved to other places where it was easier for them to practice their religion. This meant there were fewer Buddhists in the region which caused Buddhism to decline.
