Deductive reasoning

Deductive reasoning is when you use information and logic to figure out something. It starts with a general statement or idea and then uses evidence to come up with a specific answer. For example, if you have a general idea that all cats have whiskers, then you can use evidence (looking at a specific cat) to come up with a specific answer (this cat has whiskers).
