ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Deep frying

Deep frying is like cooking food in a big pot of hot oil. It's like making French fries or fried chicken.

When you heat up oil in a pot, it gets really hot and starts to bubble. You can put food like chicken or fish or potatoes into the hot oil and it will cook really fast.

When the food is put into the hot oil, it gets crispy on the outside and stays moist and yummy on the inside. But it's very important to be careful when deep frying because the hot oil can burn you very badly. That's why only grown-ups should do it.

And after you're done frying your food, you take it out of the pot and let it cool. Then you can eat it! It's crispy and crunchy and super yummy.
