ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Degranulation

Alright kiddo, let me explain degranulation to you in a way you'll understand.

You know how you have LEGO bricks and sometimes you have to break them apart to use them for something else? Well, cells in your body have little LEGO bricks inside called granules. They're like tiny little packages filled with important stuff, like chemicals and proteins that help your body fight off bad guys.

Now, sometimes these cells encounter something they don't like, like a bacteria or a virus. When that happens, they get really mad and decide to attack it with the stuff inside their granules. So, they break apart the wall of the granule with a special tool called a protease, which is like a little hammer, and release all the helpful stuff inside.

This process is called degranulation, and it helps your body fight off the bad guys and stay healthy. Pretty cool, huh?
