ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Degree of frost

Okay kiddo, when it's really cold outside, we can measure how cold it is using something called the degree of frost. It's like a thermometer that tells us how much frost is forming because of the cold.

The degree of frost is measured in Celsius, which is a way to measure temperature. When it's zero degrees Celsius, that means it's freezing outside and water can turn into ice. When it gets to minus 10 degrees Celsius, that means it's very cold and we might see more frost on things.

If it gets really cold, like minus 30 or even minus 40 degrees Celsius, that's when we might hear people talking about the degree of frost being really high. It's important to dress warmly and stay inside when it's that cold, because it can be dangerous for us to be outside.

So, the degree of frost is just a way to measure how cold it is, and the colder it gets, the higher the degree of frost will be. Stay warm, buddy!
