Light probes are objects used to measure the brightness, or amount of light, in a particular space. They work by detecting the amount of light being reflected off of objects in the room, then sending that information back to a computer. The computer then records the amount and type of light in the room so that people can use it to make sure the lighting is appropriate for whatever purpose it is being used for. For example, light probes are often used in photography to measure the brightness of a room or a certain object in it so that the photographer can adjust the camera settings accordingly.
