ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Delaney clause

The Delaney Clause is like a rule that says if any chemical is found to cause cancer in any amount when given to animals, it cannot be used as an ingredient in our food. It's a very important rule because it helps keep our food safe and prevents us from eating things that can make us sick or cause cancer. It's sort of like saying, "If we know something is dangerous, we shouldn't eat it." The Delaney Clause helps protect us and keeps dangerous chemicals out of our food.
