ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Delegation (computing)

Delegation is a way of telling a computer to do something without having to do it yourself. It's like telling someone else to do something for you. In computers, when you delegate something you give another program or person permission to handle something on your behalf. This could be things like accessing certain files, running certain programs, or even sharing certain data. The person or program you delegate the task to is usually the one responsible for actually completing the task and making sure it's done correctly.
