Delta-v

Delta-v (or delta-vee) is a measure of the amount of "push" an object needs to get from one point to another. When a rocket blasts off, it needs to push up and away from the ground to get into space. The amount of push required is called delta-v. The more delta-v an object needs in order to get to its destination, the more fuel it will need.
