ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Demographics of Tibet

Okay kiddo, let me explain what demographics mean. Demographics is all about the people who live in a particular place. So, when we talk about the demographics of Tibet, we are talking about the people who live in Tibet, like their age, gender, ethnic group, and religion.

Now, Tibet is a region in China with a population of around 3 million people. Most of the people who live in Tibet are ethnic Tibetans. That means they are from the same group of people who have lived in Tibet for thousands of years. Some other ethnic groups also live in Tibet, such as the Han people who are the majority ethnic group in China.

When it comes to religion, most Tibetans practice Buddhism. They follow the teachings of the Dalai Lama, who is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. However, some Tibetans follow other religions like Islam or Christianity.

Lastly, let's talk about age and gender. Tibet has a young population, with around 60% of the people under the age of 30. That means there are more kids and young people in Tibet than older people. As for gender, there are slightly more men than women in Tibet, but not by much.

So, that's the demographics of Tibet for you, buddy. I hope I explained it well enough!
