Dephasing

Dephasing means that particles that were once in the same place and moving in the same direction can now be found in different places and moving in different directions. It is like a group of people that were all standing together, but then suddenly began to spread out and walk in different directions. Dephasing happens because of tiny disturbances, like the movement of air molecules and other particles, that cause the particles to have slightly different paths.
