So, have you seen pictures or drawings of Jesus? You know, the man with long hair and a beard, sometimes with a halo around his head? Well, people have been making pictures of Jesus for a looooong time – like, for over 2,000 years!
Now, the thing is, nobody knows exactly what Jesus really looked like. That’s because there are no photographs or paintings of him made while he was alive. But lots of people have tried to imagine what he might have looked like based on the stories they’ve heard about him.
So, some people draw Jesus with light skin and blue eyes, while others make him look more like someone from the Middle East, with dark hair and skin. Some pictures show him looking very serious and solemn, while others show him smiling and happy.
The pictures and statues of Jesus you might see in churches or other places of worship are meant to help people feel closer to him and to remember his teachings. But it’s important to remember that they’re just one way of imagining what Jesus might have looked like – nobody really knows for sure!
