ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

superscalar architecture

Superscalar architecture is like a train station. You have a bunch of trains there, and each train can carry lots of passengers at the same time. In computing, the train station is your computer processor and the trains are the instructions that the processor runs. With a superscalar processor, more than one instruction can be running at any time, which means that the processor can do more work in the same amount of time.
