Derussification

Derussification is like taking the Russian language and culture away from a place or group of people. It's like taking the yummy chocolate chips out of a cookie and leaving just plain dough. Sometimes, people want to do derussification if they feel like the Russian culture is being forced on them or if they want to embrace their own culture that might be different from Russian culture. But just like cookies can still be good without chocolate chips, a place or group of people can still be awesome even if they're not Russian.
