Desensitization (psychology)

Desensitization is a way that some people use to help them not be so scared or worried about something that might make them anxious. It's kind of like playing a game of peek-a-boo with your feelings. So, if something makes you really anxious, like getting on an airplane, you can practice looking at pictures of airplanes and talking about airplanes and then flying on a small plane, and then a bigger plane, until your body learns to not feel as scared when you think about it. That's desensitization!
