Hey kiddo! We’re going to learn about how the nervous system grows and develops in humans.
When a baby is in their mommy’s tummy, their brain and spinal cord are already starting to form. As they grow, so does their nervous system.
When the baby is born, their brain still needs to grow and develop. The brain has different parts and each part has a special job. For example, the front part of the brain, called the frontal lobe, helps us make decisions, while the back part of the brain, called the occipital lobe, helps us see things.
As babies grow, their brain cells, called neurons, connect with each other to form networks. These networks help the baby learn important things, like how to walk, talk, and interact with others.
As the baby grows into a toddler, their motor and cognitive skills improve. They learn how to crawl, walk, run, and jump. They also start to recognize faces and communicate with their parents and caregivers.
As the child gets older, they continue to learn and grow. They learn new skills, like reading and writing, and become more independent. Their brains continue to develop until they reach adulthood.
In summary, the nervous system is an important part of our body that helps us move, think, and feel. It starts to develop before we are born and grows and changes as we grow up. The brain is the central part of the nervous system, and it helps us learn, remember, and make decisions.
