Deviation (statistics)

Deviation is a way of measuring how far away a number or group of numbers are from the average or mean. When the numbers are very different from the average or mean, they have a large deviation. When the numbers are close to the average or mean, they have a small deviation. Deviation is a measure of how spread out a group of numbers are.
