Dickey–Wicker Amendment

The dickey-wicker amendment is a rule made by the United States government that prevents federal funds from being used to support or conduct research using human embryos. Imagine federal funds are like money that the government has, and it can either spend that money on things like education, health care, or science. However, the dickey-wicker amendment says that this money cannot be used to fund certain types of research that involve human embryos, which are tiny cells that can turn into a human being. This means that scientists who want to study human embryos and their development must find other sources of funding. It is like a family rule that says, "you can use the money I give you, but not for buying candy." Similarly, federal funds can be used for research, but not for research involving human embryos.
