ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dimensioning

Dimensioning is when we draw and measure things so that we know exactly how big they are. It's like making a map of a treasure hunt so that we can follow the map and find the treasure.

When we dimension, we draw little arrows and numbers that tell us how long or tall something is. For example, if we draw a house on a piece of paper, we can use dimensioning to measure how long the walls are, how wide the windows are, and how tall the roof is.

By making sure everything is the right size, people can build things correctly and know that everything will fit together the way it's supposed to. Dimensioning helps us communicate how big or small something is so that everyone can understand it, just like using a ruler to measure your toys.
