ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Direct action (military)

"Direct action" is like when a superhero goes right into the bad guy's hideout and stops them from doing their bad things.

In military terms, direct action is when soldiers go right into the enemy's territory to do things like capture a bad guy or destroy something important to the enemy. It's very dangerous, so the soldiers have to be really skilled and have special training.

Just like how superheroes need special powers and skills to fight the bad guys, soldiers need special weapons and tools to do direct action. They also have to work together as a team to stay safe and successfully complete the mission.
