ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Direct service organisation

Imagine you have a big toy box full of toys. You have so many toys that sometimes it's hard for you to find the toy you want to play with.

But let's say you have a friend who is really good at organizing things. Your friend tells you he will help you organize your toy box. He will divide all the toys into different groups so that finding the toy you want will be much easier.

Now imagine that you are like a company that provides services to people who need them, like helping people find jobs, or helping kids learn to read. A direct service organization is like your friend who is organizing your toys. It's a group that helps the company provide services to people who need them by organizing and managing the resources of the company.

Basically, a direct service organization is a behind-the-scenes group that helps companies provide services to people who need them. They do this by organizing resources and making sure everything runs smoothly, just like your friend who helped you organize your toy box.
