Directorate-General for Development (European Commission)

The Directorate-General for Development, or DG Devco for short, is a part of the European Commission- which is like a big team of people who work together to make rules and decisions for a lot of countries in Europe. DG Devco is the part of this team that focuses on helping countries that are not very wealthy or developed.

They do this by giving money to these countries and helping them build things like schools, hospitals, and roads. They also help with things like providing clean water and making sure people have enough food to eat.

DG Devco works with a lot of other organizations, like non-profits and charities, to make sure that the money they give goes to the right places and helps the people who need it most. They also work with the governments of the countries they are helping, to make sure that the money is being used in a way that will really make a difference in the lives of the people who live there.

Overall, DG Devco's goal is to make sure that people in countries that are struggling have the same opportunities and quality of life as people who live in wealthier countries.
