Directorate-General for Information Society and Media (European Commission)

A Directorate-General for Information Society and Media (DG INFSO) is part of the European Commission. The European Commission is an organization made up of people from different countries that work together to make sure all of the countries in the European Union (EU) follow the same rules and agreements.

The DG INFSO works to make sure that all of the countries in the EU have access to modern technology like computers, televisions, and the Internet. This helps all citizens get the same access to information, share ideas, and do business with one another no matter where they live. The DG INFSO is responsible for making sure people have access to the right tools so they can work more efficiently and benefit from modern technology.
