The Disability Discrimination Act is a set of rules that says that people with disabilities should be treated the same as everyone else. For example, if someone is in a wheelchair, they should be able to go to the same places and do the same things as someone who can walk. Employers must make sure that people with disabilities are not treated unfairly at work. This means that they can’t be fired just because of their disability. Stores, restaurants, and other places that serve the public must also make sure that people with disabilities can use their services. This means having things like wheelchair ramps or special bathrooms. The Disability Discrimination Act was created to make sure that everyone, no matter what their disability, can be included in everyday life.
