ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Disability pretender

A disability pretender is someone who says they are disabled, but they are not really disabled. This means they are pretending to have a physical or mental condition that makes it hard for them to do things or work.

Imagine you have a friend who says they can't walk because their leg hurts. They use crutches to help them walk and say they can't do certain things because of their leg. But secretly, you find out that their leg is not really hurt at all and they are just pretending so they don't have to do things they don't want to do.

Being a disability pretender is not a good thing because it is not honest. It can also be harmful to people who really have disabilities because it can make it harder for them to get the help and support they need. It's important to remember that people with disabilities can have a harder time doing things and may need extra help, and pretending to be disabled is not fair to them.
