Discrimination in Europe

Hey there little one! Today, we're going to learn about something called discrimination in Europe. Discrimination means treating people differently or unfairly just because of things like their skin color, religion, gender or where they come from.

In Europe, discrimination is not allowed because all people should be treated equally and have the same rights. But, unfortunately, it still happens sometimes.

Sometimes, people discriminate without even realizing it. For example, a teacher might call on boys more often than girls or someone might assume that someone else can't speak good English just because they have an accent.

Other times, discrimination is more intentional. For example, someone might not hire someone because of their religion or they might make mean comments about someone's skin color or the way they dress.

It's important that we all try to be fair and treat people with kindness and respect, no matter what they look like or where they come from. There are laws in place to help prevent discrimination and make sure everyone is treated fairly. So, if you ever see discrimination happening or experience it yourself, make sure you speak up and tell someone about it.
