ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Distributed operations

So, distributed operations is like when you and your friends work together on a project but you don't all work in the same place.

Let's say you and your friends are building a fort. You could all work together in the same place, like your backyard, and build the fort together. But if your friends live far away, you might not be able to all work in the same place.

That's where distributed operations comes in. You and your friends could still build the fort together, but from different places. You could each work on a different part of the fort, like one person could build the wall, and someone else could work on the roof.

You would still need to communicate a lot to make sure you're all working together and that the fort looks good. You could talk on the phone or video chat, or even send pictures of your progress.

So distributed operations is just like working together on a project, but from different places. It's a way to still get things done even if you can't be in the same place as your friends or coworkers.
