ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Do not feed the animals

Okay, so you know how we have pets at home like cats and dogs, right? Well, there are also animals that live outside, like birds, squirrels, and ducks. Sometimes, we might see these animals in parks or at the zoo.

Now, when we see these animals, we might want to give them some food because we think they're hungry or that they'll like it. But actually, it's not a good idea to feed them.

Firstly, the food we might bring could be bad for them - like if we give ducks bread, for example, it's not very healthy for them and can actually make them sick.

Secondly, when we feed animals, they might become too dependent on people for food and forget how to find food on their own. They might also get used to certain foods, so if we stop feeding them, they could have a tough time finding something else to eat.

Lastly, sometimes feeding animals can make them aggressive. If they're used to people feeding them, they might come up very close to us and try to get food from us. This can be scary and dangerous for us and the animal.

So, in short, we should not feed the animals because it's not good for them or for us. We should let them find their own food and just enjoy watching them from a safe distance.
