Dodecasyllable

A "dodecasyllable" is a long word that sounds kind of fancy, but it's actually not too hard to understand. You know how when you sing a song or say something out loud, it sounds like a pattern of beats or sounds? Those beats are called "syllables", and a "dodecasyllable" just means a word that has twelve of those beats in it. So if you count the beats or sounds when you say the word "dodecasyllable" out loud, you'll hear that it has twelve of them. It's like a code for how to say certain words in a certain rhythm, and it's something that grown-ups use to write poems and songs. But basically, a dodecasyllable is just a long word with twelve beats in it.
