Domestic AC power plugs and sockets

Have you ever noticed those little holes in the walls that you can plug things into? Those are called sockets! And do you know those things that you plug into sockets that give you power to charge or turn on something? Those are called plugs!

Now, depending on where you live in the world, plugs and sockets can look a bit different. In the United States, plugs and sockets have two little prongs. In other countries like the United Kingdom or Australia, they have three prongs.

The most important thing to remember is that these plugs and sockets carry electricity, which can be really dangerous if you're not careful. That's why it's important to only plug things in when an adult is helping you, and to never stick your fingers or anything else into the sockets.

So next time you use a plug or socket, remember to be safe and always ask an adult for help if you need it!
