ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Dosha

Dosha is a word from a traditional Indian medicine called Ayurveda that helps us understand how our bodies work. Think of it like pizza - just like pizza has different toppings, our bodies have three different "toppings," or doshas, that make up who we are.

The three doshas are called Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

Vata is like the cheese on pizza - it's light and airy. People who have a lot of Vata might be quick thinkers and have a lot of energy.

Pitta is like the spicy sauce on pizza - it's hot and intense. People with a lot of Pitta might be passionate and determined.

Kapha is like the crust on pizza - thick and sturdy. People with a lot of Kapha might be calm and stable.

The idea is that everyone has a little bit of each dosha, but one or two might be more dominant. When our doshas are balanced, we feel healthy and happy. But if one dosha gets too strong, we might feel sick or have trouble with our emotions.

So, just like choosing the right toppings on a pizza, it's important to know what dosha we have and how to balance it - maybe by eating the right foods, getting enough rest, or practicing yoga.
