Dot-matrix display

Hello there! A dot-matrix display is like a big sticker with lots of little dots on it. Imagine you have a piece of paper with a bunch of tiny squares on it, and each square can be turned on or off like a light switch.

Now imagine that instead of just one square, there are lots and lots of squares, all arranged in a rectangular shape, and each of them can be turned on or off individually. That's what a dot-matrix display looks like!

People use dot-matrix displays to show pictures or words in a cool way. They'll turn certain dots on and others off to make designs or letters. It's like playing a very big game of Connect the Dots, but with electricity.

Dot-matrix displays used to be really popular back in the old days, before we had fancy screens on our phones and computers. Now, you mostly see them in things like road signs or electronic billboards by the side of the highway.
