Double monastery

Okay kiddo, you know how sometimes boys and girls have different schools? That's called segregation. But in the old days, that's how things used to be even in religious communities. Monks (boys) would live in one monastery and nuns (girls) would live in another one.

Now, double monasteries are special because they have both monks and nuns in the same place! But don't worry, they don't go to school together or live in the same dorms. They have separate areas in the monastery for living and for praying.

Double monasteries were popular a long time ago, especially in the Christian church. They believed it was important for men and women to work together in spreading their faith. Double monasteries made it easier for them to coordinate and share resources.

Some people still live in double monasteries today, but it's not as common. It takes a lot of work to make sure everyone respects each other's space and follows the rules. But it's a good way to learn about different perspectives and work together towards a common goal.
