ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Douglas Douglas-Hamilton, 14th Duke of Hamilton

Douglas Douglas-Hamilton was a person who had a special title called "Duke of Hamilton". It's like being a king, but just for a smaller area called a "duchy". His family has been well-known in Scotland for a long time.

Douglas Douglas-Hamilton was the 14th person of his family to have this title. This means that his grandfather, and his father, and his father's father were all Dukes of Hamilton before him. It's like a very special family tradition.

When he was the Duke of Hamilton, he had many responsibilities. He had to look after the family's land, including castles and farms, and make sure everything was running well. He also had to represent his family at important events and ceremonies.

Douglas Douglas-Hamilton was born in 1964, which means that he was a little boy in the 1960s. He grew up to be a kind and caring person who loved animals, especially elephants! In fact, he became very famous for his work in protecting elephants in Africa. He even set up a special charity to help protect them.

Sadly, Douglas Douglas-Hamilton died in 2010, but people still remember him as a great Duke of Hamilton and a kind-hearted person who cared about animals.
