Dower

Dower is like a special treasure or toy that a wife gets to keep even if her husband dies or they get divorced. It's kind of like a big hug or kiss from the husband that he leaves behind for his wife to keep forever. This treasure or toy could be a piece of land, a house or some money that the husband gives to his wife to take care of her for the rest of her life. The husband gives his wife this special present to show her how much he loves and cares about her. So even if the husband is no longer around, the wife can still have this treasure to make her feel happy and safe.
